Welcome to Hollings Cancer Center!

It's an alarming statistic: Cancer is the second leading cause of death in South Carolina, claiming the lives of nearly 8,000 citizens each year. More than 17,000 new cancer cases are diagnosed in South Carolina annually, and one in two males and one in three females will develop cancer at some time in their lives. Hollings Cancer Center at the Medical University of South Carolina is devoted to turning our state's cancer troubles into triumphs.

MUSC Hollings Cancer Center is a leader in cancer medicine. Our specialized cancer treatment programs, our vast array basic and clinical research activities, our multi-disciplinary approach, and patient-focused philosophy are our contributions to how cancer will be prevented, diagnosed, treated and cured both now and in the future.

We know our patients are more than the sum of their symptoms. We believe true healing occurs when both the physical and emotional well-being of each and every patient is restored. We provide a continuum of care that extends to every stage of cancer care, from prevention and diagnosis to treatment and counseling.

Hollings Cancer Center has committed all our resources to bring the best research, prevention, detection, and treatment capabilities to our patients. With our multi-center research network, we can reach into communities across South Carolina in an effort to fight cancer through research and the development of new therapies. We appreciate your visit to our website. Our goal is to provide valuable information to patients and staff and to our clinical and scientific colleagues.
